Accounting Specialist with Payroll Experience (80-100%)

We are looking for an experienced specialist in the field of accounting with sound expertise in financial accounting and a high standard of quality in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. The role will focus on responsibility for the entire accounting process, including general ledgers and sub-ledgers as well as periodic financial statements in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations. The role also includes the independent realisation of payroll accounting for 70-90 internal and external employees. In addition to operational responsibility, participation in the further development and automation of processes is also valued. The position offers a central role in a dynamic environment with close interaction with internal departments and external partners, ideal for a strong, structured and reliable personality with strong professional expertise.

Your mission

In this exciting role, you will take on the following tasks and responsibilities:

Area of responsibility

  • Accounting: Responsibility for all financial accounting including the general ledger, sub-ledgers and asset accounting. Execution of current bookings and technical coordination of an external employee for operational support.
  • Closing activities: Preparation of monthly financial statements incl. reconciliations, accruals and deferrals with Bexio. Responsibility for the annual financial statements in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations in collaboration with the auditors.
  • Payroll: Management of payroll accounting for approx. 70-90 employees, including changes and notifications to authorities and social security organisations.
  • Process optimisation: Collaboration in the optimisation and digitalisation of accounting processes with a focus on automation and scalability.
  • Coordination and management: Contact point for internal and external partners for accounting issues. Coordination across several business units.

Your profile

  • Mindset: Strong understanding of accounting and financial processes as well as interest in the continuous development and professionalisation of accounting processes. High quality awareness and structured, analytical way of thinking.
  • Reliability & Work Style: Independent, precise and solution-orientated way of working. High level of personal responsibility and motivation to take on responsibility in day-to-day business as well as for new issues.
  • Professional Experience: Several years of professional experience in the field of financial accounting as well as sound knowledge in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations. Experience in practical payroll accounting including year-end closing.
  • Educational Background: Completed basic commercial training with further training in finance and accounting or fiduciary services (e.g. federal certificate) or a comparable qualification.
  • IT Proficiency: Very good knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Abacus, Bexio or comparable) as well as a high level of confidence in using Excel or Google Sheets. Digital affinity and interest in automated, efficient workflows.
  • Language Skills: Very good written and spoken German. Knowledge of English is an advantage.
